Amanda's Music
Amanda Garrigues is a singer/songwriter from Gainesville, FL performing her own brand of street poetry & urban folk. Hailing from the same southern music mecca as hometown heroes, Sister Hazel, she has released three cd's on her own label, Average Sinner Records, since 1998. Amanda tours the Southeast & Northeast consistently playing some of the most respected listening rooms on the eastern seaboard and sharing the stage with such artists as Jonatha Brooke, Michelle Malone, Ferron and Iris Dement. She recently completed a college tour in the Midwest and is making preparations to record her fourth cd this summer.
Amanda’s credits include receiving an honorable mention for the Indie Band Search 2001 and being a semi-finalist in the E.A.R.S Talent Showcase in NYC this past March. She has also been invited to showcase at Nashville's NEA Extravaganza, the Atlantis Music Conference, NEMO in Boston and the Rockrgrrl Music Conference in Seattle. In her spare time, Amanda also writes a monthly article for Womanrock.com. In her spare time, Amanda pursues her love of acting. Her most recent credit was in the independent film, "Words", set to premier in the Spring of 2003.
Amanda is one of those rare artists who speak to you in a voice that gives compassion and registers pain. Whether you are listening to Amanda from the comfort of your couch or from the back of a smoke-filled club, you know immediately that you are the recipient of a gift.
